The two main obstacles to good nutrition
When trying to eat healthier the two main fronts are Eliminate refined sugars, and Minimize toxins. Let’s see why is this such a challenge.
When trying to eliminate sugars from your diet you have two fierce enemies; your friends and yourself.
Yes, unfortunately friends might not be very supportive of your efforts, they might not understand the role of refined sugars on the body (other than fattening) and might want to feel that is not possible nor necessary to eliminate refined sugars from the diet. The pressure to be in “the same boat” is not easy to ignore
Refined sugars do much more than making us fat, they also cause insulin surges and drops that are dangerous and may lead to diabetes and many other deceases. Getting deceases due to peer pressure is very silly, don’t you think?
So if you want to eliminate refined sugars from your diet, just smile and when your friends offer you the decadent chocolate cake or the sublime pastries, just say - no thank you, really. When declining the sweets, I often get the famous “come on, live a little!. To which I respond: I don’t want to live a little, I want to live a lot! And I want to feel good while I’m at it.
Next on this series, how to overcome the internal challenges in your quest to eliminate refined sugars from your diet.
